Overview

Spokane County, WA adopts the 2018 International Residential Code (IRC), including Appendix G, with amendments. Spokane County, WA, Muni. Code § 3.01.030 (adoption) and §§ 3.04.010-3.04.020 (amendments). Spokane County, WA adopts the 2018 International Building Code, including Appendices C and I, with amendments. Spokane County, WA, Muni. Code § 3.01.030 (adoption) and §§ 3.03.010-3.03.040 (amendments). Spokane County, Washington, adopted and amended the 2015 IEBC, according to Sec. 101.4.7  of the 2018 IBC and Wash. Admin. Code 51-50-007 (IEBC adoption). Wash. Admin. Code 51-50-480101 (IEBC general).

Spokane County, WA adopts the Washington State Building Code (WSBC) (based upon the ICC body of codes). Wash. Rev. Code Ann. § 19.27.031 (state codes) and Spokane County, WA Muni. Existing buildings, meaning buildings that were built in accordance to code at the time of construction, typically merit extra consideration in a current updated code.

The Washington State Building Code does NOT adopt IRC Appendix J (which provides guidance on existing buildings) as part of the code.
